DTF Pressing Instructions

  1. Get it Clean: Use a lint roller to remove any dust or fuzz from the area of the shirt where you'll be placing the design.
  2. Prep the Fabric: Press the empty shirt with your heat press for 5-7 seconds. This removes wrinkles and any hidden moisture.
  3. Press the Design: Place your transfer onto the shirt. Press it using the time and temperature settings listed below. (Remember, every heat press is a little different, so doing a small test first is always a great idea!)
  4. How to Peel: wait just 5-10 seconds after opening the press, then smoothly peel the film off from one corner.
  5. Lock it In: Do one final press for 5 seconds to seal the design.
  • Quick Tip: For best results, always place a protective Teflon sheet over your design before pressing.

Heat Press Instructions

  1. These are starting points. Your machine, the weather, and the air in your room can change the settings you need. It is a good idea to test one design first.
  2. Make sure you press down with firm, even pressure.
  • Fabric Type: For both 100% Cotton and Polyester Blends.
  • Temperature & Time: A good starting point is 230-260°F for 15 seconds. You may need to change this for your specific machine.
  • When to Peel: Wait 5-10 seconds after the press is done, then peel the clear film while it is still warm.

How to Care for Your Items

Keep your transfers in a dry place until you are ready to use them. Putting them in a sealed plastic bag is the best way to protect them.

Easy Steps for Pressing Your Sublimation Design

  1. Heat Up Your Press: Set the temperature anywhere between 350-400°F. A good starting point is important, so it's smart to do a small test print first to find the perfect heat for your machine.
  2. Set the Time and Pressure: Set your timer for 60 seconds and use medium pressure.
  3. Place Your Design: Lay the sublimation paper on your clothing with the printed image facing down.
  4. Press Your Design: Close the heat press and let it press for the full 60 seconds.
  5. Peel Immediately: As soon as the timer beeps, open the press and peel the paper off right away while it is still hot.

Important Things to Remember

  • For the Brightest Colors: Use a shirt or item that is 100% polyester.
  • Fabric Requirement: To work correctly, the material must be at least 65% polyester.
  • Best Colors: This process only works on white or very light-colored fabric.
